Novena of Prayer for rain

 


JERUSALEM – The Presbyteral Council has proposed to organize a novena of prayers on the occasion of the Saint Joseph Feast,  from March 10-19, to pray for rain on the country.

To members of the clergy,
To the consecrated religious
To all the faithful,

The Presbyteral Council in Jerusalem has proposed to organize a novena of prayers to mark the feast of St. Joseph, from March 10 to 19.

We attach hereto a special prayer for this intention, that can be said after the Mass of the day, collectively or individually, especially after the rosary, together with fasting we pray for the same intention.

Prayer for rain (to be recited during the Novena to St. Joseph)

Lord, by Your mysterious provision, You made St. Joseph a faithful protector of the Holy Family
and defender of his daily life, grant – now that we are preparing for his patronal feast –
through his intercession, our present needs, especially the blessing of the rain
which we strongly need after a long period of drought.
Having been nourished with the daily bread that You give us,
we aspire with confidence to eternal grace,
through our Lord Jesus Christ.
