Patriarch Fouad Twal said on Vatican Radio that the most serious challenges facing families in the Holy Land crystallize around “the disastrous political and economic situation, causing the emigration of our families”
or around the problem of dividing families due to the Separation Wall,
or problems of work due to documentation issues, and also permits
between Israel and the Palestinian Territories. “Our problems and our challenges are not the same as in Europe; the model of the family is not the same” the Patriarch stressed, adding “we’re a little more conservative.”
