God Is Love: Love is the way to peace in the Middle East and in the world

Whatever name you give to God—God, Lord, Yahweh, Elohim, Adonai, Allah, Most High, Unmoved Mover or other—the name of God that can be universally understood is Love. God is Love. Humans were created in the image of God. Perfectly beautiful. Perfectly united. Perfectly loving and compassionate.

Sadly the image of Love is tarnished. Humans are destroying each other. Instead of unity, we see division. Instead of in light, we live in darkness. Instead of giving life, we are waging death.

It is vital for the survival of the world that we humans—whether our tradition is Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, New Age, or no age—seek to reflect the image of Love. Love is the only way, and Love depends on us.

Below you will find our prayer--simple, straightforward, and sincere--for us humans to work for peace in the Middle East and, in fact, throughout the world.

Al-Bushra Prayer for an End to Anti-Semitism, Anti-Islamophonia, and the Persecution of Christians

In seeking peace in the world, we ask God who has many names--Yahweh, Allah, the Most High, Adonai, Elohim, the Unmoved Mover, and more--the One who created us in his image, to guide our minds in wise thinking, our hearts in kind feeling, and our bodies in right movement so that we may more perfectly reflect his true name which is Love.
